Democracy is a way of life

September 7, 2013

This paragraph caught my eye:

Democracy is a way of life: the right to be educated, to think, discuss, dissent, create, and act, acting in imaginative and revolutionary ways. The human heart is the first home of democracy. It is where we embrace our questions. Can we be equitable? Can we be generous? Can we listen with our whole beings, not just our minds, and offer our attention rather than our opinions? Our future is guaranteed only by the degree of our personal involvement and commitment, as we engage the qualities of inquiry, intuition, and love.” ~ Deb Curtis and Margie Carter
