Marxism – a summary

April 1, 2012

Just taking the work out of it… Carol Mutch sums up Marxism like this:
“Marxism is a theory that highlights concepts of class, power, capital, labour, exploitation, and conflict. It is based on the assumption that society consists of groups competing for economic capital and, with that, political power. Those in power use a range of strategies to defend their position. The only way for those without power to gain it is to overthrow the system that perpetuates this inequality.”
