In her paper, “Post-disaster fictions for young adults: some trends and variations,” Elizabeth Braithwaite asks:

What narrative functions does the disaster in young adult post-disaster fiction have?

It’s an interesting question – and one she precedes with the quote “Post-disaster fictions can be used to make a comment on a vast number of topics.” (Kathryn James)
